これまで、雨水を資源として活用するために、雨水をろ過する仕組みを実用化してきた笠井利浩さん。集めた雨水を、独自に開発したフィルターと紫外線殺菌をする浄化装置で処理を行い、地元の企業と協力して販売可能な品質を達成した、飲用水を作りました。今後は、この取り組みを雨水の価値を見直すきっかけにして、生活用水だけでなく、飲料用としても雨水を広く活用する社会をつくっていきたいと語る、笠井さんの思い描く未来とは？
Mr. Toshihiro Kasai has been putting rainwater filtering systems into practical use to utilize rainwater as a resource. He has purified the collected rainwater using a technology he developed himself, and in collaboration with local businesses, has produced drinking water of a quality that is suitable for sale. In the future, he hopes to use this initiative as an opportunity to reevaluate the value of rainwater and create a society in which rainwater is widely used not only for daily domestic tasks but also for drinking purposes.
