Ms. Kaori Araya has found new value in banners, which were previously used as signs and guideposts along highways and are now unused. These banners are crafted from durable, highly waterproof materials designed to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, such as wind and rain. Making the most of these inherent properties, Ms. Shintani has transformed them into practical products, such as tote bags. Looking ahead, she aspires to go beyond banners to convert all manner of waste materials generated at work sites into items of value.
