海辺に流れ着く海洋プラスチック問題の解決に取り組む金田 優さん。息子と共にビーチクリーンに参加した際、ごみを拾うだけでなく一人ひとりの行動や意識を変えることが必要だと考え、海洋プラスチックごみを使ってアクセサリーを作るワークショップを定期的に開催しています。海の環境問題を身近に感じてもらうため、「できることから始める」という小さな輪を、これからも地道に楽しく伝えたいと語る金田さんの思い描く未来とは？
Ms. Yuu Kaneda is working to solve the problem of marine plastic that washes up on the coast. After participating in a beach cleaning activity with her son, she thought that it was necessary for people to not only pick up garbage, but also to change their actions and level of knowledge. She now regularly holds workshops creating accessories from marine plastic waste. Moving forward, Ms. Kaneda says she wants to start with whatever people can do, then steadily and enjoyably expand that small circle from there in an effort to make marine environmental issues feel more personal. What kind of future does she envision?
