自身が暮らす渋谷の街が抱える課題から、新たな価値を生み出す取り組みを行っているSaayaさん。ごみが多いとされる街を、ごみから新たな価値を作り出す街にすることを目標に、クラウドファンディングや多くの企業の協力を得て、繊維ごみから紙を作り、保育園で使われる卒園証書に生まれ変わらせました。今後は、日本に伝わる紙づくりの技術を活用し、海外の人々にも喜ばれる取り組みにしていきたいと語るSaayaさんの思い描く未来とは？
Ms. Saaya is engaged in an initiative to create new value by addressing the challenges facing Shibuya Ward, the neighborhood she calls home. To transform a part of Tokyo known for its abundance of waste into a place that creates new value from it, she has used crowdfunding and collaborations with numerous companies to repurpose fiber waste into paper, giving it new life as graduation certificates for preschools. Ms. Saaya says she wants to leverage Japan’s traditional papermaking techniques to create initiatives that will bring joy to people around the world. What kind of future does she envision?
